Allergy Aware Scheme

With the introduction of the Food Information Regulations in December 2014, catering outlets have to be compliant with EU regulations on food allergen labelling. Any establishment serving food must be able to provide information, by law, on which of the top 14 allergens are present in their dishes. See our article: 'Allergen alert! An important reminder and update'.

The Allergy Aware Scheme is the charity Allergy UK's recently launched accreditation for responsible catering outlets that have undergone food allergy awareness training. Outlets are accredited after successfully passing an audit and operate in line and beyond these Regulations.
